Today, Dean Stoves are certified under the new ClearSkies mark, the efficiency and emissions requirements for the Ecodesign 2022 regulations which came into force on 1st January 2022. Dean Stoves are also Defra Exempt for use in smoke control zones.
What is ClearSkies?
ClearSkies is a UK-wide independent certification programme providing an easily recognised verification of stove performance for both emissions and efficiency, helping you to make an informed purchase decision, identify stoves with lower emissions and improve air quality. Most Dean Stoves are certificated with a level 5 which mean they are at least 30% performance improvement on the minimum current Ecodesign criteria.
What is a ClearSkies certified stove?
Certified ClearSkies stoves meet the minimum performance regulations that came into force from 1st January 2022, with five different certification levels.
What are the ClearSkies certification levels?
ClearSkies Mineral Fuel (Multi-fuel) appliances.
Dean Stoves Multi-fuel stoves qualify for the ClearSkies Mark upon satisfying the energy efficiency and emission levels criteria relating to the Ecodesign Regulations as set out above. Smokeless mineral multi fuels can be burnt in a smoke controlled area. The stove does not require Defra exemption for them as an approved fuel itself is exempt for use in these areas. Multi fuels includes approved Manufactured Smokeless Fuels (MSF) which are engineered composite blends of various types of solid fuel.
A mineral fuel appliance certified under the ClearSkies scheme will receive the following mark:
